Health & Happiness are our birthrights and we must claim them – Yogarishi Dr. Swami Gitananda
Ripple Herbals is more than an herbal remedies brand. We believe that nature is our source for healing and guides us back to rediscovering our truest essence. When we make a conscious connection with that essence, we create a positive ripple effect throughout the human community. This invokes a palpable sense of joy, our birthright.
What is Yoga Chikitsa
(Yoga Therapy?)
Yoga can be considered like a vast, open road that is infinite. Yoga Chikitsa (Yoga Therapy) is a pathway along that road one may take on their own integrative journey of health, happiness and healing. It addresses all aspects of the self from the Annamaya kosha (Physical self) to the Anandamaya kosha (universal self.)
A yoga therapist is a highly trained individual that acts as a bridge between the yoga teachings and techniques. This provides an individualized, adapted program for the “care seeker” to follow.
A care seeker is a person desiring to align with their authentic self and true nature. The therapeutic approach seeks to understand the person experiencing a misalignment, or dis-ease and not just treat the symptoms.
How Can it Help Me?
As a yoga therapist, I work with care seekers on a one-on-one basis to address their current needs using active listening and holistic assessment tools. Oftentimes there is a manifestation of dis-ease present and a specific yoga technique may be applied for symptomatic reduction. From there, we go beyond to seek to understand the root cause of the present symptoms. I may offer diet and lifestyle modification suggestions, outside resources, yogic teachings and additional yoga techniques.
Some common issues may be acute stress, difficulty sleeping, hormone imbalance, digestive issues, pelvic disorders, lack of mobility, spinal issues, arthritis and mental health imbalances.
